Community support and advice

Our services

Since March 2020, Elizabeth House has been running a Food Hub so local residents experiencing food insecurity can receive weekly food support. We are also supporting local residents to start local food co-ops run for and by them, with the aim to reduce food bills and food waste through bulk buying and accessing food surplus.

The pop-up food store opens for residents every Tuesday and we deliver food boxes with essential items (fresh and cupboard food), thanks to the support of many local volunteers.

If you need help and live in one of the following postcodes: N5 1, N5 2, N4 2, N4 3 and N7 7, contact us on 020 7690 1300 or info@elizabeth-house.org.uk

The Food Hub is also a ‘social hub’ where residents have an opportunity to meet our Community Team and take part in activities.

The Women Support Group is also back at Elizabeth House. It is on every Monday at 11:30 and opened to all women. Contact roshni@elizabeth-house.org.uk if you would like to join.

Since 23 March 2020, with funding support from the London Community Foundation, the Martin Lewis Coronavirus Emergency Fund, Islington Council, The National Lottery, the Arsenal Foundation and generous individual donations, Elizabeth House has distributed over 10,000 food parcels, including more than 7,000 cooked meals, benefiting over 700 residents in the local community. To do this, we have been supported by over 110 community volunteers, packing and distributing food parcels. With the help of amazing community volunteers, we prepare food and care parcels which are distributed to people living in Highbury, the Blackstock Road area, Finsbury Park and Drayton Park areas.

The Food Hub is still going strong and supports 120 residents a week who come to our pop-up shop or received a weekly food box.
